About Texas Water Utilities

Texas Water Utilities (TWU) provides water and wastewater utility services to 240 communities from central Texas to the Gulf shores, serving over 277,000 customers. We take great pride in delivering safe and reliable utility services to residential and commercial customers.

Our service area stretches approximately 500 miles, from Mitchell County in central Texas, to Matagorda on the Gulf shores. All our activities are regulated by the Public Utility Commission of Texas.

We're committed (and obligated by regulators) to invest in older systems to bring them up to modern standards, and maintaining all systems in optimal operating condition through upgrade and replacement programs.
