Fairwood Wastewater Treatment Plant, located in Union County, will soon see some upgrades. These improvements take a few months to implement, and we appreciate residents' patience while our team works safely and efficiently.
Upgrades include the following:
- We are replacing the bar screen, which is a mechanical filter that strains out large solid objects early in the process to protect our downstream machinery from clogging and damage.
- We are installing a waterproof, high-resolution video camera system into the wastewater lines. This technology allows us to visually assess the internal condition of the underground pipes in real time.
You may have noticed increased traffic near our plant during this process, but there will be no interruption to service.
These upgrades will help our treatment plant to continue to keep up with the demands for Fairwood.
