This is a courtesy message from Carolina Water Service Inc. of North Carolina. We’d like to remind you of a few important guidelines to help protect your home’s wastewater system.

Please do not pour harsh cleaning chemicals, paint, or grease down any drain. Medications should also never be flushed—your pharmacy can advise on proper disposal.

Only flush toilet paper and human waste. Items like cloths, rags, wipes, paper towels, diapers, feminine products, and cotton swabs should always go in the trash, even if they’re labeled as “flushable.” Improper disposal can cause clogs that may impact your home, wastewater system, and sewer main.
