First, review and compare your past usage, particularly the same month of the previous year, either with the My Account Usage module, or from your paper bills. This will help you see if your usage truly is higher than in the past, or simply due to seasonal fluctuations. Next, consider if there have been other changes in household usage, such as additional users, a new appliance, or increased irrigation.
Sudden increases are often the result of leaks – toilets, outdoor taps, irrigation systems, or a water softener – and you may want to contact a plumber to check for leaks. You can also try your own leak test. If you don’t believe you have a leak, please contact Customer Service to speak with a representative about your bill.
