Alabama Water Utilities Investing $14.6M in Local Infrastructure

This year, Alabama Water Utilities is investing approximately $14.6M to support continued reliable service.

Did you know?

Wastewater infrastructure is the backbone of a healthy community. We rely on our infrastructure systems to deliver the safe, effective, reliable wastewater services our customers depend on each day.

Throughout the country, wastewater systems are aging and in need of repair, rehabilitation and replacement. They require continual investment to sustain safe and reliable operations

At Alabama Water Utilities, we work hard to consistently improve our local systems so our customers can continue to trust the service we provide now and in the future. Our customers support these important investments by paying their bills.

2025 investments include, among many others, the following:

✦ Improving the tertiary treatment process at the North Shelby wastewater treatment plant

✦ Expanding the Morris wastewater treatment plant to meet current and future growth needs.

✦ Refurbishing and hardening critical sewage pumping stations.
